The University of Florida’s Public Relations Student Society of America Alpha Chapter is honored to host the 2021 District Conference, “Stories of the Sunshine State.” This conference is hosted by students for students and alumni who are driven to be leaders of the public relations industry. 

 

The three-day conference will be taking place in Orlando, FL from February 19, 2021 to February 21, 2021.

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the public relations sector of entertainment, tourism and travel. With the advice and tools provided, this conference will allow attendees to advance within the public relations field.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

As we navigate planning the Sunshine District Conference during COVID-19, our top priority is your health and safety. We recognize that planning ahead can be difficult right now, but we want you to know we are doing everything we can to ensure a safe and rewarding weekend in February. 

 

We know you may have questions about our COVID-19 safety measures, and we want to share the actions we are taking to protect you. 

 

We are closely monitoring updates and guidelines from the CDC and other health officials, and we are planning the conference in adherence with them. This means all attendees are required to wear face coverings and maintain six feet social distancing throughout the conference. There will also be hand sanitizer stations throughout the conference facilities. The event will adhere to CDC, Hilton and university guidelines to ensure there is a safe number of people in each room and the seating is conducive to physical distancing. 

 

In order to limit physical contact and crowding, we will be using a virtual check-in process, sharing QR codes and implementing a no paper no pen protocol, so all attendees are asked to have virtual business cards, resumes and other networking materials. Additionally, your welcome bag will be packed with sanitation in mind by the committee, who will be wearing gloves and masks and sanitizing everything with disinfectant.
